New soft AC in Colorado with smooth jazz on the weekend

This is kinda unique:

According to another board, SoCo Radio has started an LMA of “101.3 The Rooster” KOCK Pueblo, Colorado and has changed the format to one of those softer than soft AC's called “Easy 101.3." Why am I posting this on the smooth jazz board? Sundays will feature all smooth jazz.

I wonder if they're using a network like BA for that one day (a little AM station in Phoenix uses BA for their smooth jazz nights) or if they're programming the smooth jazz in house.

Either way, good news for Pueblo, getting two formats that have gotten a major raw deal in the past decade: i.e. softer-than-soft AC and smooth jazz.

I just answered my own question. They must be doing the smooth jazz in house. Their Facebook says this:

"Big weekend ahead! Smooth Jazz Sunday. Every Sunday. All day long. The best and ONLY smooth jazz on the radio.

David Sandborn
Al Jarreau
Boney James
Michael Franks"

We all know BA wouldn't play Michael Franks come hell or high water. LOL

Been listening to Smooth Jazz Sunday; excellent mix. Even a little straight ahead jazz and a Diana Krall cut that is out of this world. This is definitely not from BA. Fans of the format give it a listen!!

This Smooth Jazz mix definitely not BA fed in, I've heard deep cuts off of the new Jeff Lorber Fusion CD and a Brian Culbertson CD. Very nice.
