New Sports Station Coming To DFW

I meant it's not just dead air - but literal static. Or at least at 4am it was.
You mean noise. Static is caused by atmospherics, noise is not.

I know it is picky, but "static" is a precise term. For once, Wikipedia gets it right: "Radio noise is a combination of natural electromagnetic atmospheric noise ("spherics", static) created by electrical processes in the atmosphere like lightning, manmade radio frequency interference (RFI) from other electrical devices picked up by the receiver's antenna, and thermal noise present in the receiver input circuits, caused by the random thermal motion of molecules."

(Interesting article to be filed under "I really did not need to know quite that much")

Static is white noise..which you get from a FM rcvr with no carrier present 😁
Which, of course, is not static... since static is atmospheric noise!

This is getting like "Who's on first?"

Do you ever stop? Like really, who CARES? You're annoying.

How is clarification of a mis-used term "annoying"?

(Your comment comes from the person who said the mathematically impossible " My point is that just because the PERCENTAGE of Hispanics is rising, that doesn't mean that the white demo is shrinking.")

I worded it incorrectly, but you know what I mean. Just because the Hispanic population is growing does not mean that there are less white people in the market. Which is something you harp on incessantly, and talk about radio stations and shows as if you were in the market.

I’m wandering if KXT will play what the Eagle was playing? They already been playing The Black Crowes, Alice In Chains, Pink Floyd etc.

I did on 99.5 WRNO New Orleans when I became Engineering Manager in Dec 2019, a former rock that iHeartMedia flipped to talk. It makes a big difference in the outlying areas
I'd do the same thing, but on half the news/talk stations here in Kansas City, including one of the Bott Radio stations and 2 talk FMs from Audacy, the stereo pilot's on.
