Just as I thought would happen...The Eagle rock format is available on 97.1 HD2.
Whatever was said violated the Twitter rules so it’s gone. Must have been explosive.
I am sure there are five more like you in your area. Not everybody has a digital radio. I have a '75 Porsche with an old Becker radio that has a dial.
Statistically, "nobody" is buying single-purpose radios. For home music, they link their smartphone to speakers or tell Alexa to play their music list or one of the music blends they offer. We are approaching 40% of homes with the Amazon or Google devices.People actually collect these things and there are at least two radio shops around who will modify the old Becker to synch with my iPhone if I want to listen to Pandora or whatever. For the new stuff, you can go on Amazon and find dozens of portable radios with dials from cheap Chinese made units to more expensive units with shortwave, police and radio bands in addition to the old AM and FM.
You and a couple of hundred others have those. The main purpose, though, is to have a radio for emergencies such as the hurricane that caught many unprepared. It sits in a closet or drawer until needed.I just bought a brand new CC Radio from Amazon with an old style dial that was a knockoff of the old GE Superradio.
Most, based on research, use presets. Dials are so crowded after Docket 80-90 and the plethora of translators that nobody (statistically) searches the dial any more unless they grew up when that was the practice... making those people will into their 50's and beyond.Come to think of it, there is a direct tune knob on the digital radio of my new Honda CRV that lets me tune up and down the dial all day long looking for new stations if I want to. I'm sure I'm not the only one who uses that knob.
