New Sports Station Coming To DFW

As stupid as this sounds why don’t they put the Eagle on 1190 KFXR, and simulcast it on 97.1 HD2? Would any of you listen to the Eagle on AM? It would sound horrible but it would be better than what’s on it now.

And we should remember that the best years of WFAN in NY came when Emmis made it a guy talk station with a morning show that was not particularly focused on sports.
That's the secret sauce of all successful Sports stations. Beyond the Imus example on WFAN, most Sports stations stretch their topics.

On stations like these (talk stations on FM in a large market), do iHeart and Audacy generally turn off the stereo pilot? If they are going to have a music element I guess not, but in the southeast at least it’s common for them to shut the stereo carrier off, only thing is most of the stations I’ve physically checked don’t have the best or strongest signal so I don’t know if that would apply to a signal like 97.1.

Sounds like the new station will be more along the lines of Real Radio 104-1 Orlando than full time Sports radio.

If that is indeed the case, I like the move.

That was Ayo. He thanked the station for the opportunity to work there during the last few years.

I just checked the station's website, and the on-air schedule is no longer available.
He also said to be sure to get your tickets to freaker’s ball and how this year’s event ”will be huge for the Eagle”

I’ve been listening since 5:45 and I’ve heard djs on the HD2 stream, currently Clinger. Sounds live. No commercials though

I’m pretty sure Klinger is one of iHeart’s personalities used on the premium choice feeds nationwide.

Still amazing to me that the almost once dead Alt 103.7 is now the de facto new rock station in DFW considering it couldn’t even crack a 2 share a year ago. I will give it to Audacy thar they knew what they were doing being persistent, but also it was semi handed to them with the death of both KDGE prior to Alt’s flip and now KEGL.

Also why start Monday at 3[...]?
That is also my question because it is one hour later than the usual start time of The Ben and Skin Show. I'm thinking of those listeners who will be tuning in on Monday at 2:00 for the show, only to hear four songs with the word "Freak" in their titles.

how would they expect people to show up to the station’s annual concert for a station that apparently doesn’t exist as an hd 1? Would people still show up?
