new station in Ashland - WCKF

I know that the station is owned by Les Gradick, owner of 810AM in Jacksonville and 102.7FM in Carrollton, GA among others.
Does anyone know anything about when the station will be on the air, where the studio will be, and so forth??

I saw this station on the FCC website not too long ago. It's the frequency allotment which was given to the area when WHMA-FM "Alabama 100" moved on to "greener pastures" and was allowed to move to Atlanta several years back. It's interesting to note that the station will be owned by the same folks as WCKA "Alabama 810". It would be ironic if 810's format wound up moving to 100.7; Anniston might have another "Alabama 100".

I'm looking at the basic info for the station and it shows the power at 1900 watts. Is that the total power, or is that the height-adjusted ERP? Gonna be interesting to see how this signal gets into the Oxford/Anniston metro. The other station in Lineville is on 1700 watts and their signal isn't very good in Calhoun. Wonder what format they'll put there...

found out today that the station has a PO Box in Ashland. I've also heard a rumor that they are setting up a studio on the square. The PO Box in Ashland may well verify that...

Guess they got everything up and running, WCKF showed up in the daily digest today with a license to cover.

I suppose it's country, but... What flavor? ???

It's classic country...as "Alabama 100.7".

Well. That's original. :p

Is it a simulcast?

WCKF doesn't simulcast with WCKA. Mewonders whether 810 will keep/drop the classic country. 8)
