New station in Lubbock - KPGA 91.9

I confirmed for those that care that KPOS 107.3 will eventually switch to God's Country radio network along with the Lubbock translators.

KPGA 91.9 had some major parts fail and are on order and should arrive in the next week or so.

i hate country music and I hate southern gospel music. What part sounded enthusiastic? That KPOS is going to southern gospel/country is the worst news possible. I do like air1 although they have a short playlist so I only listen a little to it. But I like to keep up with where their new stations are. So I am enthusiastic Air1 has a new station on KPGA 91.9 and wanted to now the status of it. I do not listen to the radio that much as I live a half mile from work and when I do I listen to the radio it is NPR mostly. I can't get Air1 on my car radio as there signal is too weak here. At my house I listen to the NPR news/talk station from Saint Louis and also the air1 station that is near Saint Louis. I do get tired of people only posting when they have something to complain about. So I tried not to that.

Sure, I understand. It's just one of those thigns where I feel like we shouldn't give these religious broadcasters any more attention, that's all. KPOS going with more religion? I don't need to know.

But I do hear what you are saying about new stations being on and people only complaining.

Looks like they changed to God's country today. KPOS call letters have been dropped and changed to KGEC.

Are they using 99.1? In their little promos they play between the songs, they only mention the frequency 107.3 and 94.1.

Wonder when 91.9 will be up and running?

take out ad in "The Church Bulletin" church Lady, NOOOOOOO O N E CARES!!!!

Since I am not there I want to know what is happening even though I will not like the new format. I like to know things and do like air1. I hope someone posts when 91.9 comes back on. I do appreciate it. That is what message boards are for is to communicate.

So I am clear is 107.3 God's Country and not air1 anymore. I know that is what you said but I am very surprised if they have changed 107.3 to God's country when Air1 is not even back on 91.9 yet. Maybe they had signed a contract to make the switch by a certain date. Are they really using the KGEC calls with 99.1? An FCC call sign search says KGEC is still availbale so I do not see how they could be using it. And is Is 99.1 confirmed to be God's County also? I am also interested in what 94.1 will broadcast.

There is nothing wrong with knowing the facts of what something is if nothing else to avoid it in the future which I would do to God's Country stations. Some boards are dead and you can't find out anything. For myself I avoid commercial stations as I hate commercials. I only have non-commercial stations on my presets. For TV I have a DVR and skip commercials.

The 100.7 translator EMF does not own. Radio Assist does. EMF actually sold it Radio Assist because they did not need it. My guess is they are keeping it up and running hoping some one would want to buy it.

99.1 is indeed God's country as well.

Also, I need to make a correction on the call letter change. I think the call letters are KGCE and not KGEC. I'll listen again sometime today just to make sure.

And 91.9 is still silent.

Oddly enough, it WAS God's Country for a week or so.

I tuned it in yesterday and it was back to Air 1 again. I have no clue what is going on at this point. ???

Ok I wrote them and they said it was a mistake that is was flipped early before 91.9 was back on. So it was flipped back to Air1 until 91.9 comes back on the air.

I honestly believe the reason some religious groups file for so many frequencies isn't because they need the coverage.

It's to keep "liberal" NPR and college and even other religious groups off the air.

Consider I can have any outfit in the country put a 250 watt translator which could cover my small town of residence and then some, but I can't put an LPFM on air with anything more than 100 watts to run local programming, which might originate from area churches, provide local information and so on.

The FCC's really looking after the public interest.

My vendetta isn't against religious radio, but the abuse and duplication and operations counter to the spirit of the rules and common sense really offends me.

I have not heard any more news in a over a month on KPGA and KGCE. I think KPGA 91.9 Morton, TX should be back on with Air1 now and KGCE 107.3 Post, TX should have flipped to God's Country Southern Gospel from Air1. I was hopping someone in Lubbock could confirm.

thanks

I agree.

I recall when Family Radio began a translator on 99.7 in Austin. I heard them one time do a fundraising appeal that said if you don't support their ministry they would leave the air in your area. I thought that was odd for a religious group to declare that they're only going to spread the Good News into a particular area if they pay for it themselves. That goes against the entire spirit (no pun intended) of missionary work.

I guess they didn't meet their quota because they sold the station. It now duplicates the local Hip Hop station.
