New station - KCBG, 89.9, near Corpus Christi

A 100,000 watt station... Apparently coming to the area. But what's with the low height of 42 m? It's licensed to FULTON TX and owned by First Dallas Media.

If I were them, I'd raise height and maybe lower power to cover the same area. Would definitely be easier on the power company.

I believe this company runs Christian stations like K-Love, something Corpus already has.

Looking at Google Street View, the proposed transmitter site is a cellphone tower. I suspect this might be a placeholder while ownership decides on another, more appropriate facility. Cell towers get used for translators and LPFMs, but I don’t think I’ve seen one for a 100kw FM.

"First Dallas Media sells the CP for 89.9 KCBG Fulton/Corpus Christi TX to Arian Kasra’s Poderosa Broadcasting Corporation for $25,000. The buyer also holds CPs for non-commercial signals in New Market Elko MN and North Chicago IL."

Anyone know what will happen with 89.9 Corpus Christi? Hope it's not one of those lemon stations that doesn't stay on, the new owner has an SA address.

Just realized PODEROSA BROADCASTING CORPORATION (89.9's new owner) owns 91.5 in Budha TX that was filed for in the 2021 filing window and dismissed (not a good sign). They filed again and the new one says "Review instead of "granted" "dismissed" or "pending".
