New Streaming Provider For 101.9 FM News?

I found out on the Chicago board that Merlin Media is now using Liquid Compass as its streaming provider. ("101.1 FM News" in Chicago can be heard online here.)

Meanwhile, Merlin is using the same streaming provider (themselves?) they've been using for New York's "FM News 101.9." Why not kill three birds with one stone?

Besides the player currently on the WEMP-FM website www.fmnewsnewyork.com - link: http://listen.merlinmediallc.com/wemp/

there are these new "Listen Live" links:

pop-up flash player link: http://den-a.plr.liquidcompass.net/player/flash/audio_player.php?id=WEMPFM&uid=579

direct URL link: http://204.209.255.119/WEMPFMAAC 64 kbps, 44.1 kHz, stereo

direct URL link: http://204.209.255.119/WEMPFMAACS 32 kbps, 44.1 kHz, stereo

For the Chicago stations that are now Merlin Media properties:

---WWWN-FM-101.1 - FM News 101.1 old player link: http://listen.merlinmediallc.com/wwwn/

new "Listen Live" links:

pop-up flash player link: http://den-a.plr.liquidcompass.net/player/flash/audio_player.php?id=WWWNFM&uid=578

direct URL link: http://204.209.255.119/WWWNFMAAC 64 kbps, 44.1 kHz, stereo

direct URL link: http://204.209.255.119/WWWNFMAACS 32 kbps, 44.1 kHz, stereo

---WLUP-FM-97.9 "The Loop":

pop-up flash player link: http://den-a.plr.liquidcompass.net/player/flash/audio_player.php?id=WLUPFM&uid=576

direct URL link: http://204.209.255.119/WLUPFMAAC 64 kbps, 44.1 kHz, stereo

direct URL link: http://204.209.255.119/WLUPFMAACS 32 kbps, 44.1 kHz, stereo

When attempting to link via the direct URLs, it may take 2 to 3 tries/"time outs" before the audio starts. Some buffering as well.

I guess PJC goes far beyond the traditional "view source" method... thanks!

btw The AAC streams don't work very well in Windows Media Player. :(
