New Syndicated Melanie Morgan Morning Show...

(Has this not been posted here yet?)

Mark Masters (son of Roy) and his Talk Radio Network Entertainment have announced that Melanie Morgan, former sidekick to Lee Rodgers at KSFO, will co-anchor a new "investigative news" morning show in partnership with the conservative Washington Times.

(Is the Times still owned by Rev. Sun Myung-Moon's Unification Church?)

According to FMQB, the show, entitled "America’s Morning News," is set to launch Monday, June 15.

never have quotation marks been more appropriate! Yes, the WT is still the Moonie paper; but they have right-wing competition now from the DC version of the Examiner.

2 questions:
1. How long before this shows up on KSFO?
2. if Melanie moves to Washington, won't her hubby Jack Swanson get lonely?

I'm thinking that she'll be working from a home studio here.

I assume that Melanie's studio will be in the right-wing of the house, while Jack's home office will remain in the left-wing.

Congratulations, Melanie!

I've truly enjoyed your work over the years, and my husband met you at some KSFO events in years past.

We'll check it out!

According to a post by MM herself,

Our flagship station in Washington is WTNT, and my former radio station KSFO will carry us live in San Francisco.

DCRTV, meanwhile, says:

However, we hear that Red Zebra talker WTNT, 570 AM, is still planning to carry the show at a later date. No reason given for the change. So, come Monday morning, it'll still be Mancow on WTNT.....

So much for your flagship station...

Monday morning (June 15) at 6:00 a.m. EDT, the world will change a little bit. For me, it’ll change a lot. I’ll crack the microphone in a starship Enterprise high tech Washington, D.C. studio ... Our flagship station in Washington is WTNT, and my former radio station KSFO will carry us live in San Francisco.

WTNT is a joke of a station. CC owned it for a decade prior before selling it to Redskins owner Dan Snyder (aka Red Zebra). It's tied for 32nd place in the market... or something like that.

Seriously, if this is the "starship Enterprise high tech Washington, D.C. studio" that she's referring to:

...then I'm guessing MM has never watched Star Trek.

I've seen "higher tech" studios in third-rate podunk towns. Heck, I've seen home studios that are fancier and better equipped than this.

Is cracking the microphone anything like breaking the camera? ....

My guess is that she was probably being sarcastic when she said that.

I listened to about an hour of it. It's a good show, but they have to cut-down on those stop-sets. Some of them were 8 minutes.

The Marin I-J profiles Melanie Morgan in today's edition:

http://www.marinij.com/lifestyles/ci_12746674

Excerpt:

One of Marin's most vocal conservatives has flown the coup. Melanie Morgan, longtime Greenbrae resident and former KSFO radio host, has moved to Washington, D.C., for the chance to co-host her own national morning radio show...

She's staying in a hotel and just made an offer on a house in northern Virginia. Her son, C.J., will follow her in August. Her husband, Jack Swanson, is the program director at KGO Radio, and will be living the bicoastal life for the time being.

That's an interesting mistake in the first paragraph, for anyone who understands the difference between "coop" (as in "chicken coop") and "coup" (as in "a sudden and decisive change of government illegally or by force").
