New syndicated shows in DFW

Has anyone else noticed that Westwood One is flooding the marketplace with silly talk shows? Arliss, Dr. Oz, Oprah's bff, Doug Urbanski (?), wtf? How long before some brainless pd in DFW picks up one of these time sucks? Live and local people...live and local.

gspits, you obviously have not been to "Radio/Cost Cutting/Programming" school. "Live and local" will wreck the GM's budget!

Even us "syndy" guys have probs getting a show on when the sales guys think that the best programmes are ones that are brokered!

Syndy programming (No cost) = Better...
Brokered programming (Paid for) = BEST!

Live and local is just a silly pipe dream, I get it. But Robert Wuhl? A sports show, Let's see if we can get Don Johnson a show about drug reform. (Don't you do it WW1, that was a joke). Doug Urbanski? Who is the first mindless PD to put that garbage on the air? I'm takin' bets.
