New Tenants at the Ghetto plex.

I wonder if 100.3's move into the GhettoPlex is just a first step towards its eventual sale to one of the other two companies in the building? Sure would cut down on moving expenses.

OR......Maybe Davidson would like to be on the buying end, and perhaps pick up a signal from one of the other two companies?

Either way, 100.3 as a stand-alone doesn't seem like a good long-term plan for Davidson.

I can remember when Lite/WLKW were the only residents of the building....Telemedia had just spent a serious buck upgrading the building and building the studio and Gary D goes over to look at the new digs and refused to work in the studio until the put bullet proof glass in b/c of a rock that had gotten kicked up from the highway and dinged the window as they were there visiting....one of my favorite stories ever

I heard the same story.I worked there at the time.

All these stations have been in 75 Oxford One time or another.

WSNE,WWBB,WHJY,WHJJ,WCTK,WLKW(1450),WNBH

Past tenants...

WWRX with WWBB (when Clear channel owned only WWRX and WWBB)
WWLI
WLKW (790)

The only 6 stations that were never housed on Oxford st are.

WALE,WWKX,WPRO-FM and AM
and 99.7
ooops. and I almost forgot 102.7

Ah yes memories, nothing more exciting then watching the WLKW automation overnight as they were moving in bits and pieces from Westminster street or sharing the same space with WRX i think while we were moving over to the trail...
good times...good times

Can we get a radio station , to move in the Hartford Project Skyscraper Building ?

Regarding past tenants at Oxford Street, you forget CNN110.

Sorry, I meant CNN1110

110 CNN was out of Warwick on Jefferson BLVD.
WHIM the second comming was on Pavilion Ave in which I worked.Although we had a link to WWRX (103.7) to 75 Oxford st where I would get news from.
75 Oxford was listed as the main studio but we were at 49 Pavilion Ave with a hook up where we could broadcast from Oxford street by raising a pot on the board if we had too.

As reported on fybush.com WKKB has moved into 75 Oxford st.That makes 3 companies with 8 radio stations under 1 roof

Does the parking lot gate still not work over there?

I remember on more than one occassion where I was trapped inside the Ghetto-Plex parking lot. The weather was so cold at times that the mechanical parts inside the gate opener FROZE! And then there was the part timer at Cat Country that stole my snow shovel, again leaving me stranded. Not to mention all the cars that were broken into in that horrid neighborhood when the gate was jammed open and would not close to secure the parking lot. Roland Company be damned. Man, those were the days.

Point being, I'd expect stations to be moving OUT of that building, not into it. I can't imagine that the neighborhood has gotten any better and I'm willing to bet cash that the gate is still effed up... 3 years later.

The rent is probably cheap and they also get a decent view of the city. So that's probably why they stay. I'm sure the rent is the main reason why.
