New therapeutic use for old bulk erasers? (Don't pitch them just yet)

So...THIS is why I was so happy as a young man when I first started in radio.
It was the electro-magnetic pulses from erasing all those carts for production!
And this whole time...I thought it was all that weed I was smokin' back then!
Who knew!?

I'll never forget once in the recording room of the station I worked at and one of the nameless sales managers was talking to me. He picked up a bulk eraser and started pushing the button on it, absent-mindedly bouncing it off his thighs as he leaned against a counter.

I mentioned he could sterilize himself if he kept doing that and he jumped, screeched and dropped the eraser to the floor. It broke, of course, but he never came back to production again and I considered that fair compensatioin.

He went on to get us successfully sued for sexual harrassment by one of the female sales persons. She made a nice chunk of change and opened her own business with the proceeds. The SM and his best buddy, the GM, both found the need to try another line of work.

I don't know if the bulk eraser caused this series of events, but it's as good a cause as any other I can think of.

I once was using a hand held bulk eraser when the screws came out of the bottom, the bottom opened up & hot tar ( I assume) landed on my thigh. Up til then, I had no idea those magnets were surrounded by hot tar. Lord, that hurt. I carried a scar for years.
But it never happened again :)
Wasn't funny at the time but 25 years later I'm laughing about it as I recall it now.

I think we got one around here somewhere - and with the headaches I've been gettin' from the sale staff, I think I'll give it a try.
