Proof, it's not what you know...

" I am very excited to be reunited with Sandy Gamblin, a former GM who I had the pleasure of working with at The Edge in Phoenix. I am confident that we are going to make great radio together.""

Also,

AC WQFM (Cool 92.1 & 1001.)

I thought they were oldies

Good luck and welcome to Lynettland where things aren't what they seem and reason and good business sense meaning nothing. The Lynetts allow you to look into the kingdom but they won't allow you to run it.

Haha!

It's funny because it's...well...nevermind. I'm sure it'll be fine this time.

Sorry Willobee, didn't mean it as a negative slam. Just typical radio. New leadership comes in, they want to surround themselves with people they know and trust. People who they've worked with before in success and failure. Sometimes you're on the good side of the new leadership, sometimes you're a casualty. We've all been both.

Good luck to Tom Bass, may he land on his feet and keep moving upward and good luck to you.

Welcome to NEPA.

BTW- what's with jocks having one on air name- When you're as popular as Madonna or Cher you can have one- till then, stick with a first and last name.

-30-

I'd rather someone use their real first name than some crappy, cheesy, made up one

Kind of funny coming from someone who hides behind a fake name to post here. It is an extension of my real name and I dont use my last name as I prefer not to get prank calls and stalkers show up at my house at 3 in the morning. True story.

i worked long and hard to find an air name in the lehigh valley in the 80's; at the time there were 2 "gene's" in the market and my PD wouldn't let me use the name 'gene' (my given name)...........the long and hard part was spent in a bar trying to come up with names and 'stosh' was thrown out as a joke and it stuck...........and thank God i never had a 'stalker'.................
