New Title Coming To "Cougar Town"?

Producers of the ABC series "Cougar Town," convinced that potential viewers could be shyed away from watching a series with such a title, are considering changing the name of the show.

My suggestion: "Cox Rock". :D

I haven't been able to watch the show because of my work hours - i did watch the premiere, however - and judging solely from the promos that air incessantly during "World News Now" the scope of the show seems to have changed to a more benign comedy rather than (what I"m sure they hoped would be) a envelope-pushing show about a 40-something dating college kids.

There's nothing benign about it. I finally decided I had had enough of the raunchy sexual humor. True, not groundbreaking, but when only one character is likeable, that's not enough to keep me watching.Even as pretty as Courtney Cox is.

The show, in my opinion needs an overhaul. In my opinion, Courtney Cox and Busy Phillips are very good in their roles, possibly even excellent. But the show IS unfocused. And the writing is uneven. For every laugh, you have to suffer through mediocrity. Another thing: I don't "buy" Jules whining about losing her youth, looks etc. when she looks so awesome! (except for being painfully thin that is.) Most women that age would kill to look that good.

You didnt like Christa Miller funny in Scrubs? Shes pretty much playing the same type of person. I actually like all the females and the teen son, everyone else not so much. Oh and Miller's husband.

I like the idea of changing the name of the show to Courtney's World or something simple like that.

Hmmm, something like "These Friends of Mine" has a ring to it. ;)

I saw something recently in The Washington Post about how this show has changed a great deal (but not for the better in ways that would make me watch again). The article said the show was no longer about cougars, although it did not mention that the first episode pointed out the high school sports teams are the Cougars. That, of course, would make it work.

The article is right, I think thats why I stopped watching it.

I guess they did the same thing that so many Television producers do: Let's sign up a big name star and then build a show around them. I don't know why they keep doing that b/c that paradigm has failed so often.

i watched an episodes the other week.no name change will change the fact that it wasn`t at all funny in my opinion.
