New Topic: What is Euro?

I listen to a few internet Top 40 stations that pretty much follow the trend on what's on terestrial and mainstream. The only differenece is that there out there breaking or tyring to break hits that has not been featured or played on terrestrial or even Satellite 20 on 20. But half of what they feature eventually does. But the sem to catagorize themselves as Euro. What is the description of this heading which basically sounds more like future top 40 1 pre-month ahead time.

Euro either refers to a mainstream style of Dance music with catchy lyrics and distinctive synth sounds, or it refers to big Pop hits that are doing well on the charts in Europe, but havent crossed over to the US.

So if your familiar with Goom Radio. It pretty much a traditional CHR, but seems to break hits that you will hear on the terrestrial top 40 station a few weeks or more later. Bulletproof was played as far back as January when I first heard it ,only to be played as a current on my local CHR 3 months later, and even on 20 on 20. It could also be Rock hits.....like Scouting For Girls...which I heard a lot, but I don't think it has been added to most terrestrial CHR's or charted yet.

Interesting interpretation - here in the UK, "Euro" is mostly used to describe the slightly cheesy dance that the likes of Basshunter and David Guetta churn out. Think guilty-pleasures in a nightclub that you wouldn't admit to liking but after a drink (or two), suddenly seems like a classic! I don't think we've every stretched it to guitar-based tracks - it's typically dancey-pop.
