Man it seems a lot of places we go I see new towers going up. Just saw a neat new set of towers getting ready to pop un near Phoenix, AZ where my friend Bill and I live now. I think it's the new antennas for the Disney station. Anyways we were delivering a motorhome frame (a nice Freightliner with Mercedes deisel) to a conversion fellow near there in Charlotte near 321 off of 85. We could see it barely from the interstate so we got off and found this little road called Pylon Lake or something..and back in this huge clearing there is stacks and stacks of tower pieces. I told Bill that it's probably a tower company's storage area, but there were also a lot of boxes, and cables all over the place. Looked like a new site fer sure. Any news? Bill said that Jim Shaeffer probably owns that land. He has a lot of money, and I bet he is going to start his own station. I heard he lived there now. We used to listen to him on WGAR years ago, and he was a good deejay allright.
