New Tracks...Ricky Martin is back???

Gwen Stefani - Cool

Comment: Doing better than I thought. Maybe a top five peak before the summer's over.

50 Cent/Mobb Deep - Outta Control

To be honest...I have no clue in hell how this debuted in the top 90 area. It looks like it's going to be 2005's "In Da Club" (remember how gigantic it was in 2003?).

Backstreet Boys - Just Want You To Know

After a top 10 peak on "Incomplete", my predictions on this are pretty stiff. Now, I'm at the point of predicting a top 20 peak for this. Then yet, you never know when Jive records will hand out free stuff or not. If they don't, top 20, bottomline. Otherwise, fairly big, top 5-ish. I'll put it this way...it will get a lower peak than "Cool".

Ben Moody - Everything Burns

I thought he was a songwriter for Kelly Clarkson and Amy Lee (Evanescence), not a singer. Or maybe I could have lost some knowledge on Pop Culture. Haven't heard this track, but I have a gut feeling it won't do well.

Ricky Martin/Fat Joe/Amerie - I Don't Care

?????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fat Joe, Amerie, and WHO?! I must be literally blind, or I could see that 2000's Pop music is repeating itself. Or maybe I'm dreaming. How and why is Ricky Martin back? I thought he was LONG gone when "She Bangs" hit radio.

Maybe he's out making decent music. Haven't heard the track; I probably shouldn't be bashing it. But, I'm just suprised that he's back.

Mario - Here I Go Again

Umm...very stiff; "How Could You" flopped. Well have to see with this one. But this guy will probably be a two-hit wonder ("Let Me Love You" and "Just A Friend). But, "Here I Go Again" isn't TOO bad, top 40, top 30, don't see anything higher.

Lil' Rob - Summer Nights

Rhythmic leaning CHRs are already and will kill this song to death. Regular CHRs probably will be a bit less leaning to this song, even though it's very decent. They'll probably take it as an R&B song; which may actually boost it's airplay. At least top 20, but not seeing anything too big for this guy.

Killers - All These Things That I've Done

It's a bit too indie for CHR/Pop radio. I'm predicting a top 40.

Ebony Eyez - In Ya Face

Similar to "Summer Nights", Rhythmic leaning CHRs will kill this, while more normal ones will add it sometimes. #20-#30.

Bravery - An Honest Mistake

Probably won't do anything at all above the #30 mark. A bit too indie, Alternative stations will kill this, if they haven't already.

Well, those are some new CHR tracks. Look them over, listen to them, buy them, throw them out if you hate them...anything of the above will work fine.

Not too bad. But I'm gonna have to hear it more.

I wasn't a big fan of Incomplete at the beginning, but I grew to love it. I kind of like Just Wast You To Know so I'll probably love this one too. WKSC Chicago is already all over it. First heard it in the car while listening the other day. I think it'll do OK. Top 20 as you said.

Wow Ricky Martin! I had a feeling that the return of Backstreet Boys would be a sign of more "pop" to return to CHR Haven't heard it yet.

Just A Friend 2002 was the only song I ever liked by Mario. I'll have to give it a listen but chances are I won't like it. My sister has the CD so I'll have to borrow it.

I have the Hot Fuss CD so I put it on. Its an OK song. But the album version is WAAAAAAY to long for my tastes (over 5 min) There is most likely a radio edit. They probably should have made Smile Like You Mean It the next CHR single.

Out of all the songs on this list, this is by far my favorite. I first heard it on WLUM back in April when they tweaked to mainstream Alternative. Has a really good 80s new wave/synth type sound to it. I heard it on WZEE Madison the other night while DXing. I hope this one does good.

As for the others, I haven't heard them except for the Lil' Rob one. I heard the tail end of it on the local CHRs. Have yet to hear the whole thing.

So there's my opinions on these.

WZOK Rockford, IL plays it. (CHR)

BSB track SHOULD tank...no matter how good their last single was. Wait for "Poster Girl" to come out as a single (it should). Alot poppier and has a catchy hook.
______________

You guys are totally missing the boat on two records that will be total SMASHES!!

Fatty Koo - Bounce
It's a poppy rhy. record, totally hot and totally should be HUGE for this summer.

Marcos Hernandez - If You Were Mine
TOTAL SMASH!! Kiss in Dallas has it as a power and I'm banging it here in Tulsa and getting a HUGE response. For non CC, go to NewMusicServer.com for CC users look for it on CCADS. If you don't play it, you have issues....LoL

Plus the Lil Rob record shouldn't be ignored either, the days of the rock leaning top 40 are OVER. Look at the rock based hot ac format, it's in the tank. Summer Nights is a mainstream record, believe it or not.

ENJOY!

Love Fatty Koo! Marcos is great... we were first in country on this one... It took a while but it'd finally coming in to it's own! Great crossover ballad!

How ironic is it that a group with a "reality" type show on BET has it's song breaking on CHR/POP stations.
______________

He should make a remix of "Summer Nights" with Amerie or Ashanti or something. That would set it off.
