New Translator Apps Popping Up?

Looking through recent FCC Daily Digests, I have seen a handful of translator apps that seem to have just been filed for in the last month or two (some were even filed as recently as a week ago). How is this possible? ???

I thought there had to be a window open for these filings. Was a window open and I just didn't notice?

Not a window. These are Great Translator Invasion apps filed in 2003 which would not exceed the 10 App remaining cap and have become singletons.
The announcement is here....

and the actual list is here...

Looks like there were 206 of them in all. They get assigned a new "2008" number when the actualy long form app is filed, but all of these have been "In the stack" at the FCC for 5 years. This is the beginning of clearing them out and hopfully getting back to another LPFM window.

Thanks for the explanation. The last I had heard was that the 10 app limit was being suspended, and I thought that put the whole thing into limbo. However, I am glad to see some progress is being made so we may move on to a new LPFM window (hopefully with LP-10s also allowed this time).
