Is it becoming a World Soccer channel? The logo looks to me like a person kicking the Earth...

I like it better than the new TLC logo..which looks like a cheap version of the old one.

Kinda look alike. Just noticed this by going to discovery.com and clicking networks pages.

And as for the new Travel Channel logo it isn't bad at all. Only thing they now need to do is drop the poker, move it to TLC. lol

Remember TLC/Travel/Military are all parts of Discovery Comm.(thus the blue globe on the TC logo)...this may be a start of a unified image for all of the Discovery channels.

I thought TLC stood for "The Learning Channel"...since when does Adam Carolla and Overhaulin' constitute "learning"?

Actually TLC is going back to the "learning channel" image with their new shows and branding. Looks like they are focusing more on women than men again too.

TLC took a horrible turn about 3-4 years ago and never recovered. It has wandered so far from its original premise that they should just change the name. What a bunch of dreck they have on TLC now! I never watch anymore.

Discovery went down the same road, BUT they seem to have returned to their senses at Discovery Networks, as it's back being a cool science/entertainment channel again. Mythbusters rocks! And, they've gotten back to showing the kinds of programming that made the channel famous in the first place. Thank God!

BTW - I don't like the new Travel Channel logo either. The old one was better. And, it fit into the "Discovery family" better too. What's up with the art departments at these cable programmers anyhow? Not one improved logo or graphics set all year!

Forgive me,
When did they ever focus on men?

Adam Carolla Project, Overhaulin, etc......

The last year or so they have done a lot of men targeted shows that would have made more sense on Discovery.

TLC used to stand for "The Learning Channel", but that ended a few years back - the network is known simply as "TLC". It's just like with AMC no longer standing for "American Movie Classics", GSN no longer standing for "Game Show Network", and so on.

With that said, I wonder if TLC's changes indicate a move back into more "learning" style programming.

More like "Awfully Mediocred Cinema"
