What... they've been out for 7 minutes and no posts? :)

Good book for MMR... coming close to YSP now.

Have BEN, Praise, and WRNB flattened out already?

And of course, look at the gangbuster numbers that The Beat is putting up on the more powerful signal.

Otherwise, a pretty boring book. Thoughts?<P ID="signature">______________

Seems WMMR's new morning show is having a huge impact on their overall numbers.
I guess I am missing something because I think the morning show is flat out horrible. But if I where YSP I would be a little concerned.
Also what happened to WJJZ?

Radio & Record online site has an article on flattening time-spent listening trends for the Jack/Ben format. However, I still think some kudos are in order for Greater Media...when is the last time 95.7 pulled a 3.1...was it in the Max days?

Where did the B-101 listeners go? Also, how can anyone listen to WOGL anymore. It's so repetitive and uninnovative as an Oldies...oops I forgot they don't think of themselves as an Oldies station anymore.....Sorry.

The last time 95.7 was this high was in the Jammin' Gold days. I think they might have hit a 4-share and top 10 once. Max never got out of the lower 2's.

Wait...you mean the tired old rhythmic thing--and all that disco everyone supposedly hates so much--outperformed that rock-based AC stuff they kept trying? My, my. Now that is surprising. (LOL. Sorry. Couldn't resist.)

WOGL is getting more repetitive and leaning more classic rockish. Not my cup of tea - I find myself more and more inclined to go to Oldies 100 WJRZ.

When Wonderful Tonight or any other tune like that comes on, I hit the button.

Still listen to Hyski & Holiday on Sunday (and to Bob Pantano). <P ID="signature">______________

B is settling into a groove very similar to last summer. Not such a horrible harbinger if the trend holds true through the fall!

WOGL continues to fare quite-well-thank-you-very-much, despite all the naysayers.

WMMR: Finally!

Wired stays on top of Q...but not by much. (And these are 12+ numbers so they include an ishload of people who just don't matter!)

BEN-FM is still enjoying that sampling-the-new-station tingle. Of course, that could also be a cold sore coming on. Tied with the jockless niche-formatted WPPZ. God bless them both!

When's The Beat gonna make some noise? The jocks on that station are hilarious. Does anyone want to take a shot at what their problem is? I don't see why it's so hard to take stale old Power 99 down a few more pegs.

Since you axed...consistency, that's one problem. Since 1997 that station has been all over the map within the urban genre...and it seems as though the current PD is in way over his head...and the new "heavy" they brought in to help hasn't done dookie. The competition, Power, is the Michael Jordan's era Chicago Bulls in the 18-34 demo. Second problem for The Beat is Wired. Wired swiped all the AA teens, hispanic and any cross over white kids...the teens pump the numbers up...and lastly...shockingly enough...WMMR.

Now, let me clear my throat...I am not saying that WMMR is taking audience away from The Beat, cause I can not see the 12+ duplication being in double digits, but what is obvious is why Radio One was pushing so hard to keep P&S off the air...WMMR was ranked #3 18-34 in this last trend. WOW (they have almost doubled their 18-34 audience)! Well, that keeps The Beat firmly planted in insignificance land of the second page in their core demo.

There is a little debate going on about The Beat and Radio One Philly on the urban version of Radio-info.com:

http://www.urbaninsite.com/asp/vent.asp

Someone brought up a good point that now that Y100 is gone the overall cluster's opperating costs are down significantly...and that even though the revenue is not up Radio One is clearing more cash per month even with two stations that deliver no rev (WPPZ, WPHI). Interesting theory. So, why would they look to improve The Beat with an injection of cash? I think that's small minded bidness, if you ax me, but I ain't the cat parking my new Mercedes crooked in that first executive spot in Conshy.

Word to your mother.
