The Wolf was up and KSCS was down. Most everything else was unremarkable except 92.5 taking a dip.

The Wolf does seem to have a success story don't they...and what is happening at KSCS - ouch!
Although many may not understand the dynamics of what KLUV is doing, it is hard to argue that it is not getting results...they are within striking distance of #1 in 12+...wow!

Wondering out loud here...

Is anyone here (or anyone you know) what you'd call a Twister "P-1" (or even a sometimes listener)? The whole idea was double up and chip away at the Wolf, but now with KSCS under-performing, just how long can 96.7's existence be justified?

Hey I love being able to go out to the car and hear Russ argue with JD, Russ talk about his band, Russ talk about his batmobile, Russ talk about his problems with management, so on and so forth.

And I love that he's still complaining about the same things every week, every month, year in year out.

Looks like Lonestar just helped KLUV get bigger numbers. Russ Martin dies a slow death....did those numbers go to the Ticket? anyone?

I've been told that KLUV KDBN and Jack all went up somehwat. And yes, at the expense of 92-5.

The Lonestar doesn't seem to be shining brightly...

1.) Anyone know who is beating Russ 25-54? I think he may have told one person too many "If you don't like it - don't listen". It is the same tired sh*t everyday... That is why I have tuned out.
2.) Lonestar was almost as bad of an idea since someone said "Hey, why don't we try that MOViN' format?"
3.) I also have to wonder if the Oasis was still around would KLUV be pulling in such high numbers. If you were an Oasis fan when it checked out your choices were basically KLUV, XM or CDs. ???

Dang! I guess I must be the only old fart that considers 92.5 to be a breath of fresh air. I kinda like their mix, but then I guess I'm one of the few that appreciates Willy, ZZ Top and the Grateful Dead sharing the same space on the dial.

I like Lonestar 92.5 and feel they should stick it out until NEXT fall.
As for Russell Martin, his cliche's are old ,borrowed, and lame.

He is being beaten by the doctor pager at Parkland

I read an interesting post on the Seattle-Tacoma board under the thread "Untruths and Rumors". I would love to hear any of your thoughts pertaining to a similar DFW radio thesis. Any takers?

Are you wanting an overall grading of all the major stations in the market?
Cause I could do it, but there's a number of stations I purposefully avoid, so I'd need to reprogram a couple of buttons to get back up to speed...

And my one question on the Seattle thread- sounds like the guy is doing it strictly from personal taste-

there are plenty of stations I don't like, but succeed either in ratings or revenue...so I'd have to grade on a curve there at the very least...
