New TTK Overnight Program

I enjoyed Phil Hendrie when I first started listening to him. Although I think he is very talented, his show gets kind of tired after a while especially after you realize it is all a spoof.

This morning I woke up at 4:00am and heard a different program on. I beleive it was hosted by a guy named Stein and it was a self help feel good about your self show. I don't beleive it was an infomercial.

There is no mention of the show on the TKK web site and I don't know if Hendrie has been complety replaced or shortened.

Maybe this? "David Stein segues from sports to general talk". He used to be on the network LauroJim is fond of, Sporting News.

>The new version of Stein’s show, which even as a sports talk show, emphasized a positive outlook and called itself a “Celebration of Life,” will launch on April 5th and will air from 1-5a (ET)...“David Stein is companionship radio- he’s the perfect overnight host."

Knew you'd be interested when I mentioned the SNR connection. I found the info by typing
"stein talk radio" into a yahoo search (oops mis-typed your ID as laurojim not laurojrm!)

He took the entire Hendrie slot, rerunning the first hour of his 4 hours show from 5am to 6am.
Interesting topics. Kept things positive. I like this guy better than Hendire, who just argues with himself in lame attempts to mimic other voices. The first time I heard this show, it was so obvious. I was stunned folks found this entertaining. Oh well; different strokes and all that.

The new guy mentioned several times that WTKK just picked up the show, and asked folks to give him a chance. I am guessing his trial run might be at least a few weeks.

I love Red Eye Radio but I wish he would have a guest on now and then. McIntyre would be great interviewing some entertainment types and other pop culture mavens.

As far as TKK goes anything is better than John and Jeff talk about dull.

Yup, Hendrie appears completely gone. This new crap apparently runs the whole night from 1-6am.

Yes, his show jumped the shark when he revamped it last year to full time spoof...though, in the past few months, he's reverted the last hour (3-4am) to a news/commentary "NewsHour" with his two bogus sidekicks, "Bud Dickman" and the "security guard", which is how the whole show used to be (with maybe just one or two segments with his bogus skits/callers——
" Ted's, of Beverly Hills, Steak House, come on dow-how-how-hown. Ted's, of Beverly Hills...we love to put our meat in your mouth!"; "Hi! I'm Gary Dupre, that's me!" :D).
Personally, I'd just as soon they bring back "John & Jeff", full time, not this lame, new age, feel-good crap that ain't gonna last! :-[

it's ok @Raccoonradio. I knew he had a new talk show about to start. A good link to look up is (Radio Syndication Talk) On that site, look on the top center, you can find Syndication Companies such as "AURN.COM", "Premiere Radio Networks" "United Stations" and "Westwood One" to name a few.
It's ok about the name, no problem

I think Phil Hendrie is one of the most creative people in radio and I will miss him (thank goodness for WWKB). I only heard the new guy introduce himself (4 AM repeat) and I was not impressed. I did only give him 5 minutes, but he seemed to have nothing more to say than "please give this show a chance" without explaining. His voice made me think of Mason Adams (and that's not good). :(

@VMorrison, I agree. Yes he does have some interviews (Books, Authurs) I also agree, he would be great to add some more interviews in entertainment, and sports... Other than that, I think his show is great.

Actually, voicewise, I think he sounds like Howard Stern on a tranquilizer! ;D

Interesting. I'll stick with Steve LeVeille on 'BZ, or WBUR's simulcast of the BBC World Service on overnights when someone other than Morgan White Jr. is sitting in for Steve.

A Jewish version of Delilah (yikes) maybe?
Something different, though the military was mentioned a lot (for real Americans). He does personalize the spots: this is exactly what I needed type reads.

Yes Hendrie was repetitive but he's also brilliant. "Radio for patriots by patriots" and "the patriot line." I think he's still on in Fall River/1480 m-f and Buffalo/1520 7 days.

Also Portland/970.

btw I noticed they had changed the website to reflect Stein being on but forgot the "Now On" feature which still said "Phil Hendrie"
