New TV Network: Movies!

Yeah we have it on WRBW 65.2, they bounced the Bounce network to 65.3. It is mainly airing on the Fox owned stations around the country. Fox and Weigel Broadcasting are doing it. MGM in response is moving THIS TV from Weigel to Tribune Antenna TV

You must be in Orlando!

THIS TV is already a subchannel on Tribune's WPIX 11-3 (Antenna was 11-4 but moved to 11-2 last year).

not to be a buzzkill but this has been talked about for 4 months when it was first conceived
It will launch on just Fox O&O stations and Weigel's WMLW in Milwaukee

Dont know about Charlotte as they (Fox) just got done buying a couple stations there

The only affiliation outside of the Fox and Weigel stations (amazingly, missing from Weigel's South Bend LPDTV's) is KLAS-TV in Las Vegas.

Fox's Charlotte stations are basically still Capitol stations, until FOX launches on WJZY. I would think by the time they move those stations' Master Control to the FOX national centralcasting hub, Movies! will launch on either WJZY or WMYT (most likely the latter as they are putting it on the MNT stations in most markets) and those station's current third-party subchannel services will disappear.

Hearst has This TV here on KCWE.
Bounce TV hasen't launched yet on BHN/Comcast and so on in Orlando because TBA 2013.

Back to "Movies!" -- promos on WTVT in Tampa Bay announce that the channel will be seen on 13.2, but made no mention of cable coverage on the area systems, meaning that Movies! will be antenna only for the short term.

yeah same here in Minneapolis. They say if you watch tv via an antenna rescan on Memorial Day....but the test card is already up

When Me-TV went national, it took something like four to six months before it became available on WBND-LD 57-2, even though the station is owned by Weigel.

We have it on WTXF in Philly on 29.2 also. I plugged the antenna in to check. It's not on FiOS yet and I don't think Xfinity has it yet either here.

Here in Cincinnati the programming geniuses took THIS TV off the air and put Bounce on in its place. What a lousy change. Hope we get movies here in the Queen City.

Here in Milwaukee it's on the long-vacant WMLW 49.3 (main station feed is on 49.1 in 720p, Bounce is on 49.2 and Weigel's low-power Telemundo affiliate is in SD on 49.4. Now, with all that crowding there, Movies! is pretty pixelated and fuzzy, due to Weigel's obsession with subchannels. It is in 16:9 SD though.

Well, I've almost given up on ever seeing Antenna TV in Phoenix because of our local station's optimism about ATSC M/H Mobile DTV and pathetic weather subchannels.

Movies! is lit up on KCOP-13.3 in Los Angeles.

I see they are showing High Anxiety later today.
Cool, one of my favorite Mel Brooks films.
Favorited.

Me too. High Anxiety debuted in theatres to mixed reviews, but I've always thought it was one of Brooks' best. Of particular note:

- The "shower scene" in which Dr. Thorndyke (Mel) is "impaled" by a newspaper wielded by the crazy bellhop (played by film director Barry Levinson in a cameo).

- The attack by the swarm of birds...using guano rather than beaks and claws.

- The murder of Dr. Wentworth (Dick Van Patten) via loud rock music.

- Mel singing the theme from High Anxiety

- Most any scene with Nurse Diesel (Cloris Leachman) and Dr. Montague (Harvey Korman)

I saw Brooks interviewed recently by Dick Cavett (on PBS, IIRC), and he told a great story about meeting with Hitchcock, to get his blessing for the parody. Apparently, Hitch was quite flattered.

Movies is showing on 5.2 in Atlanta. Disappointed. I wish Atlanta had an affiliate of The Nashville Network because I'd really love to watch it.
