New tv networks

With Style (Formally G4) being replaced by ESQUIRE NETWORK heres my idea of new tv networks:

Comedy Classics - A network devoted to everything comedy from the 1950's to the 1990's. airs shows like I Love Lucy, Gilligans Island, The Brady Bunch, That Girl, Mary Tyler Moore, Taxi, Carol Burnett Show, Mama's Family, Hogan Family, The Mommies, Dear John, Just The Ten Of Us, Growing Pains and no informicials.

FOX Drama - A network devoted to daytime and primetime soaps and other family drama progaming airing shows like Dark Shadows, Passions, Another World, Days Of Our Lives (Classics), Generations, Santa Barbara, Sunset Beach, Melrose Place, Models Inc., Pasadena, Ally Mcbeal, Parenthood, Dawsons Creek, Felicity, Roswell, Degrassi, ER, Baywatch.

FOX Crime - A Network devoted to all crime shows like Magnum P.I., Knight Rider, The Commish, Colombo, Killer Instinct, John Doe, Renegade, NYPD Blue, The Dead Zone.

The Action Network - A network with nothing but action like Hercules, Xena, Legend of the Seeker, Cleopatra 2525, Jack Of All Trades, Highlander, Earth Final Conflict, Power Rangers, V.R. Troopers,Masked Rider, Big Bad Beetleborgs, Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog, Young Hercules, Night Man, Sliders, Quantum Leap, Batman, Prison Break,24, Mission Impossible, Jericho.

and more networks centered on an all kids channel, cartoon channel, a teen network, an all music channel, and a game show and reality network

Pretty good ideas. I think some of these niches are already addressed though. Soapnet for Fox Drama, Sleuth for Fox Crime. I would love to see a Comedy Classics channel as you describe. There are already so many channels though and so much stratification, it's hard to imagine more networks being able to take hold.

But with all the 'new' specialty networks, how long would it be before they went the way of the 'Weather Channel' and 'SyFy' :)

Maxim Network another Men's Channel coming and they hope to get it in all Cable Systems by end of year.

Newsscan like Weatherscan but would be 24/7 local News?

Weather Channel 2 so Weather channel can go back to Weather 24/7?

Accuweather Channel or Fox or CNN doing a Weather Channel to go up against the Weather Channel?

VH1 Megahits back?

Fox doing a Sporting News Channel that's Sports News 24/7?

A Radio TV Channel so Rush and so on can be on TV? Also a ESPN Radio TV Channel and Sports one for other Sports one not on TV yet?

Sports Movie Channel?

"Weather Reality" - Coast Guard Alaska, Storm Riders and all the other weather reality programming. Owned by TWC. Weather Channel would get rid of Wake Up with Crap and go 24-7 weather again. (Storm Stories in VERY rare filler ONLY!)

I've never understood why The Weather Channel didn't start a second "all Weather" channel years ago, even before NBC bought it. Once they strayed from the 24/7 weather format they opened up a hole. Pretty much the same thing CNN did when they created CNN2/Headline News back around 1980.

Sorry but my 24/7 "weather channel" is my PC and what ever portable device I have at the time.
If there's a big weather event happening I stream TV from that area.
No need for the weather channel.

Isn't Weatherscan the "all-weather channel" a lot of you are asking for? One post even mentioned Weatherscan in the same post they called for making Weather Channel weather 24/7 again.

Netflix is calling themselves a TV Network now. They even have original programming.
Of course. It's an online network like ESPN 3 has become. With all those consoles & other DLNA compliant devices out there, it was only a matter of time before networks started forming

Before you know it, we'll start seeing local stations start using this technology to stream locally produced content like theydo with their websites now (In fact, doesn't a Spokane, WA station already do this?)

Cheers & 73 :)
