I took a look at the TV station coverage maps at https://www.fccdata.org/ yesterday. What I noticed is that when looking at the latest Granted and Pending applications for TV stations in the Boston and Providence markets there may be quite a few changes. Among the changes:
Probably due to channel sharing, many stations will increase their ERP, more will use Elliptical polarization, more will use non directional antennas, and coverage areas will increase. I noticed this in particular with WLNE and WJAR, which now use directional antennas with a null to the north and east. I also noticed the application for WNEU in Merrimack to move to Needham and WYCU Nashua to channel share with WGBX. So the changes due to the spectrum reclamation may actually improve reception for some areas in New England, at least from what I saw if these applications are granted and take effect.
