New upcoming KDAF/33 morning news

Yeah, it'll be something like that Morning Buzz syndicated show that used to air on Channel 21.
This is called "Eye Opener" and is some nationally syndicated thing on the Tribune stations with local content inserted throughout the hour.

Anyone want to bet that the ratings will be lower than what they're currently getting with the old sitcom reruns?

You'd expect a show with a title like "Eye Opener" airing on CBS-owned stations, if not CBS itself.

that's exactly what's happened. Only difference is they don't have to pay a syndicator and advertisers will pay more for low news numbers than for low sitcom numbers.

Of their former early morning sitcom block, the only show with a cash fee associated with it was "I Love Lucy". "Bewitched" and "Roseanne" are both pure barter, as I recall.
