New Urban Coming To Charleston

Well..Apex will now have a combo to sell with Star 99.7..and with WSSX leaning very rhythmic now..dont know if there was room for 2 of them..
 
This makes perfect sense, but why did it take so long. Citadel's Z-93 JAMZ has been on top of Charleston's ratings for years now by default. Competeion has come and gone, but no other Urban hip-hop station was able to compete. Apex has already taken down Ciatdel's MAJIC 107.3 and now its time to take down the Z. 92.5 has a perfect 100,000 watts covering the Lowcountry apose to what RHYTHM 100.9, POWER 94.3 and HOT 98.9 were able to offer.

So now maybe WSSX will go the other way? I remember when Sunny went country they were going after Sunny listeners, but theirs was hardly the format Sunny ans would have looked for.
 
I could see SX adding a handful more pop and rock songs than they play now, but they'll pick up the former B92 audience.
It's a win/lose for Citadel. A win for SX as adding the B audience should easily put them over a 4 share, if not a 5.
A loss for Z, potentially. We'll see how much ammo they give their top property.
Gotta love a radio war, though!!!!!
 
This should be a good battle. Dont really care for the name but Im sure that will grow on me. Could see it being called Hot 92 or Wild 92.5 Will be listening to them and checking out the new format. Just heard them say at 4pm for the end to the start of something new. Maybe a hour stunt to 5pm.

As for Citadel its good for 95sx, now they just need to dump Ryan in the afternoon. Also add more rock back which im sure will happen. Doubt anyone who loved Sunny 96.9 has 95sx on. But thats already taken care of with Chuck FM and Y 102.5
