WEDO might have a great signal and Mr. Edwards might be a great guy, but it is an AM daytimer and I don't any scenario that it replaces the 106.7/860 combo. True, he might do business better than the previous group and given 106.7, he might make it work. I don't see anything working on an AM daytimer.

You can now put that AM on a FM translator and feed the translator directly. The AM would have to sign off at sunset, but the translator can run 24/7. If there are translators available in the city, that would make a daytimer more valuable.

They can still broadcast on 820 at night with limited power, if they're open-minded enough to broadcast on a split channel. Sima Birach does this on his WNZK in Westland (Detroit market), Michigan. It broadcasts on 690 during the day and 680 at night. 1,000 watts both day and night. You'd need a second transmitter to do it, and the only way such a move would be viable is if you could sell it at night. In this economy I'm not so sure. They're lucky to have the revenue they're generating now. Even high school sports only brings so much revenue to offset the costs involved.

WPTS (which I helped get started) is only 10 watts on the Cathedral of Learning. You can barely hear it in Shadyside.

I live 13 miles line of site from WPTS, At my house, And Driving through my Area [North of the city] they over ride WKPL 92.1 Whats with that?

At a high enough elevation you can probably get them but there's not enough power to get into buildings and valleys.

I lose track of time. It must have been about 25 years ago that I made that suggestion. Time flies when you work in this crazy business.

Frostburg must have submitted a defective application to have been turned down.
