It takes ONE LONE PD to make a station successful not former sales persons disguisng themselves as Program Directors but operate Under the TITLE ( and often title only) of GM/OM.Smokey Rivers was a helluva good PD, and a super nice guy. Infinity wasted his time and talent. I would love to see him go up against an Infinity station and beat them handily.As far as Nicki Nite,if she must use a popular cable network for her airname( hmmm Nickelodeon "Nick at Night, owned by Viacom, who also owned ,until the split, Infinity) then her originality and creativity are marginal. It has already been established,you can't program KVIL from New York and be successful. Their track record for the past two years alone is proof. If she is just a "yes woman" and bows to the Infinity suits instead of actually programming a station,expect the "expected", another PD change in 18 months. So what if she knows how to play cooperate politics?If thats her way to get promoted,then grey clouds are forming already on KVIL"s horizon.The defense of her by "new names" makes me wonder if she is a female version of Fitz who employed the same tactic,with multi characters. Don't expect much from KVIL as it is becoming more and more of a tax write off than ever before.

Okay, but in your analogy, it seems as if Jerry Jones is the GM? He's the owner. The Head Coach is not the PD but the GM. The PD would be like the offensive coordinator. But I get your point and it's true: The GM can't micromanage the PD either.

That's no lie! It was hard to go from Market 5 to market 85.

For some reason, people in those smaller markets think that we get paid big money for what we do in market 5. I finally had to break down during an interview for market 85 and tell them that they where actually paying me more than what I could make in Dallas. They where in shock and hired me! Sometimes you have to go where the money is.

By the way... Ever hear of a "lame duck"? Not saying anything negative against Nikki, don't even know her. I'm sure she'll learn just like everyone before her, she's a puppet like the rest of us. Just be happy with the snazzy title on the bidness card and do as your told.
