New VO guy on WOGL

Just went to Philly today(our first out-of-town travel since the pre-pandemic days) and listened to 98.1 throughout the entire trip and I noticed that they have a new VO guy. This guy is much familiar because he is also the main voice of CBS-FM in NYC and also heard on Pocono 96.7 in Stroudsburg. I think this new VO is much better than the previous one that was used since 2018 when they were under the "Nobody Plays More 80s" tagline, now they are using "Greatest Hits". What do you guys think?

I haven't noticed the new VO so I can't speak to that (honestly, I can't remember the last time I heard WOGL). But I'm glad they're done with the "Nobody Plays More '80s" thing. It always sounded clunky to me. For a station that seemed to be dragged kicking and screaming into the decade, I found it odd that they decided to go all-in and basically make it their entire identity (instead of simply dropping some references to the '80s music).

I gave it a listen this morning. It sounds a bit better but the station is a fragment of what it once was.

The Previous VO from 2018 until recently was RJ McCay (who did some on-air work at night during this time.)
Its nothing like it was, no. and I expect it won't be long before they flirt with the 2000's. it'll be a song here, a song there.

It’s not a good thing that they dropped Nobody Plays More 80s. That means they’re moving forward in time, not backwards

They like Cher?

If I could turn back time...
Ironically, on WOGL's website, Cher is currently their "Artist of the Week."

In looking at WOGL's playlist during just the past 90 minutes, they played two songs from well into the '90s. "Killing Me Softly" by Fugees (1996) and "Torn" by Natalie Imbruglia (1997). Forward in time, indeed.

Note, however, that they also played "One Love/People Get Ready" by Bob Marley & The Wailers which is from waaaaaaaay back in 1977.

In the past hour, Salt N' Pepa, Jennifer Lopez, Spin Doctors, The Fugees... Sounds like the 90's is slowly evolving into the "focus" of classic hits.
