New Voiceover at WPRI

Can anyone identify this new voice? He's been on for a week or two now.

Which brings me to asking this question. There have now been 4 announcers on Eyewitness News. Which one did you like the best?

Ernie Anderson passed away years ago. Are they using old liners read for them back in the 90s?

No, He was alive and well when he was the Announcer for Eyewitness News Providence. I believe that he passed away while he was still doing work for them.

I'm talking about these past 4 years of today's Eyewitness News. 4 different announcers have been there. By the way, how do you feel about this new one?

I don't know who the new voice guy is either.

The theme music has not changed. WPRI is still using "Viacom News Package II" from 615 Music.

Was Chris Corley the voice guy after Scott Chapin and before Al Vanik? The guy I'm speaking of does the tags for Fox promos now...and is also heard in some First Run movie commercials.

Kevin: that guy in the Youtube link is funny as hell. Great find! Thanks for sharing it!

not sure who does the promotions tags. if i remember correctly, corley was the first guy with the cinemagic/garicomm look and chapin came after him. I'll find out and get back to you.

Chapin was the voiceover guy when I got to Channel 12 in 2002. Since then, they have had three different voiceover people.

Channel 12 has had three voiceovers guys in the last 4 years and every new guy sounds like the last. This latest one sounds a little more feminine though. A tiny bit softer sounding......... almost like he could be the Gay brother of the last voiceover guy. ;-)
