New vs. Old audio processing

Being a fan of the old 8100 xt I'm just curious if or how many are still in use in competitive situations.
Most interested in how it compares to the modern digital boxes if its time has passed or still able to keep up.

I'd like to think it could still sound as good as it ever did and be loud enough.

I would guess the 8100 isn't used much anymore since parts are probably scarce for it.

The last one I had in use as a primary was on a station build in the Beaumont area, our budget demanded re-purposing of existing surplus hardware. I know of a few that still serve in a backup capacity though.

As far as parts go, Bill Sacks can rehab the units for a good price. I will be sending our 9100 gear to him some time this summer for a refresh!
