The very fact that the Canadians are investigating this system a decade after adopting Eureka 147 -and having it mostly ignored, tells you something.
It tells me that digital radio is a hard sell, especially if it doesn't offer a lot of compelling new content.
Of course we can't ignore something that's happening on our doorstep (unlike, for example, the Australians, who have rejected the IBOC approach). But there's no stampede happening in Canada to hop on the IBOC bandwagon. We're also investigating DAB+, DMB, DRM and DVB-H.
