New Weekend AM Anchor on KPNX

I saw her for the first time this morning...Melissa something, I think???

Is she is a permanent addition to the weekend am's???

I didn't catch her name either! :-[

She also was on Saturday with Joe Dana and on last Sunday with Brahm Resnik. Her picture isn't on the wesite. She might be the new co-host for both days.

Great! I've been on vacation so this was my first opportunity to see the weekend am news during the sweeps period. I'm afraid I slept in on Saturday until 11am (jet lag!!!). She seemed very pleasant but, honestly, just pronounce Caribe's name normally for heaven's sake. ::) This is up there with Neeecooole Herrrrrrnnnaaannnddddez-Cunningham!!

This may not be politically correct but I am getting real tired of "fake" Hispanic accents. These are English newscasts the last time I checked. Save the "accents" for the Spanish newscasts.

Her name is Melissa Gonzalo. She seems nice. Works well with Brahm Resnik and Joe Dana. She has a squeaky voice that isn't annoying (yet).

I used to smile when Nicole rolled her name like that. :)
I started laughing when she add Cunningham at the end. :D

She seems decent for a weekend am anchor. I haven't seen her with Joe yet. Honestly, Joe needs all the help he can get! ;D

I'm glad someone else caught this! I actually lived in San Antonio before Phoenix and was very used to Hispanic names. However, in San Antonio, most people had American first names and Hispanic last names (i.e. Mike Ortiz or Roy Galvan or Sarah Lucero), so it didn't come across in such a pretentious manner.
