New Windsor FM station

Blackburn radio has applied for 95.9FM for a proposed country music format. ;D

http://www.crtc.gc.ca/archive/ENG/Hearings/2007/n2007-14.htm#6

Also Some other person or company yet to be determined also applied for the same frequency for a proposed Ethnic format.

ALSO

CBC wants to put a rebroadcaster of CBEF 540 on 105.5 and CBE 1550 on 102.3
( both of these (IMO) are not needed at all as their current frequency serves its listeners adequetly) Its a total waste of a good frequency for them to use!

The Country station would do well in Windsor, but the Ethnic station........... not so much. Not in this market anyway.

As for CBC....... they are just greedy!

I find it hard to believe that CBC needs a nested FM transmitter for CBEF, as that signal comes in almost clear during the day clear up here in London.

Also, I'm very surprised Windsor could have a 95.9, with the all-powerful 150kW FM96 from London also on 95.9. Chatham listeners to FM96 would likely lose out. At least it's only going to be 3.3 kW, which is even less powerful than the 95.9 in Ajax.

Funny you've mentioned that.

KX 96 is running billboard ads all over Toronto. Not just Scarborough...Toronto!
Everywhere from King Street to Bathurst Subway station.

They must have improved something, or why else would they advertise like that?

Do they even have any ads in Ajax? (lol)
