Jeff Lynn is staying in Milwaukee.

OH GREAT, so now instead of all Doobie Brothers, Bruce Springsteen, Pat Benatar and Kelly Clarkson's "Since You've Been Gone" -- Expect to hear a ton of ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA!!! Perhaps one of the worst groups ever!

Also, you notice that part of their "eclectic" mix is rap music. They play 2 songs "Outkast - Hey Ya" (you never hear that one) and "YOUNG MC - Bust A Move".

What crap, it's only slightly better than Magic 104.3. At least they dont play the stupid "Buckinghams" or "New Colony Six"

Wow, Chicago radio has really gone down the drain in the last 18 months.

Good! Let him produce the next George Harrison album up there!

Nah, George ain`t doin` so hot. Too many years of ciggie
butts coming back to haunt him.

Everytime I see Sir Paul trashing up Get Back, I realize
all the best parts of the Beatles are dead and buried.

Hold on "Bigg Jon" Polodian from WSBC/WCFJ is a finalist for the jmk job..not a lot of major market experience but plenty of administrative skills because in reality 'jack' is programmed out of new york

I thought both of Infinity's Jack stations in NYC and Chicago were being programmed out of Dallas? Anyway... is this perhaps a step toward making WJMK a full service radio station again (meaning live and local), or just a step towards making WJMK's music programming independent of the other Jacks?

Chicago's Jack FM has many songs that were added locally. Also the liners are locally written, and then voiced by the Canadian voice guy, Howard Cogan

I guess i said my previous post wrong...what i was trying to say is there is little or no local autonomy...sure they run liners about 'lollapooloza or whatever but its all decided elsewhere thats why they need a pd who is an administrator not a creative or idea guy....I dont know this BiggJon guy other than that he is with newsweb and is involved in internet broadcasting on i play radio....but i talked to one of the newsweb employees at milwaukee av. and he said this guy is a 24/7 radio guy who lives and breathes it....

That guy does that out of Canada? Wow, thank goodness for NAFTA. But I dont think he's as bad as everyone here thinks. The liners are funny and he has a good sarcastic delivery. And I like the fact that they have no jocks. But the music sucks.

I find his delivery entertaining to listen to... I probably listen just as much for the imaging, maybe moreso than the music. I don't know if I'll be tired of it 4 or 5 months from now, but we'll see. It's been years since I've heard catchy, creative liners that were good for a chuckle... everything I hear anymore is "my voice is deeper or louder than yours" or a bunch of attitude trying to beat you into submission. Even for a station that's jockless, it lends a little personality.
