I've wondered why KDF wasn't the flagship for GAC Nights. Certainly a good way to take care of the evening shift, and still be live from Nashville.

Battle scars? More like still licking my wounds. Who is FS? Sorry didn't get that one. Not sure what happened exactly with JT, but know that he is moving on. Maybe there isn't enough room in the studio for him and Rick's hair. LOL

Funny that Ms. Hancock has all the answers in this case...since according to my sales friends on 2nd avenue she (a) chose to take herself off the air at night and (b) got fired because of her inability to get most anything done on time or done well in promotions.

i guess it feels like people rule sternly when they demand that you do your job...and at a high level. If I dont make my sales budget or number of appointments per week, no one is going to tell me "it's ok...you will be alright...just feel good about yourself....we would love to support you while you dont do your work." Work is work. Business is business.

What you have here is clear: the Citadel mgmt made a terrible PD hire. Yes, they deserve lots of fault for that. If he were so brilliant why wouldnt he have been snatched up immediately in radio. [EDIT]

KDF is mired in a slump. that's the truth. yes, there is drama surrounding it -- and much of it has been created internally. that's sad because it just shows that people care more about gossipping, blaming other people for their woes, than doing something about it.

but let's call a spade a spade. eddie, justin -- all the air talent you mentioned was NOT number one when they were fired. Not 2, 3, 4, even 5. The Wolf beat KDF's ass over the last 5 years. Give them credit. Beat their ass. citadel thought they had a guy to get them where they needed to be. they were wrong. he didnt work out. wont be the first time or the last time that happens. all this other stuff is a joke.

sorry...ive never posted here before because i disdain the gossip that goes on here. i love the history threads and the talk about philsophy, formats that work and dont work and the like -- the rest of it makes our industry look like a bunch of idiots. petty, insecure, grubby idiots who love to wallow in other people's pain or misfortune. do you think lawyers and doctors and scientists get on boards like this and anonymously rip people in their business. its classless.

Your first and third paragraphs tend to negate what you wrote. I think you've made some assumptions. Leave those two paragraphs out and I can cheer you on for the rest. You definitely said some things that needed saying.

You are absolutely right nashradiosales, it was an “inability to get anything done, or done well in promotions”, it’s hard to get things done when you’re busy being a rag doll between the Program Director and the Promotions Director, that never agree. Try that 5 days a week and see how far you get. However, it is my fault for letting it happen. What kind of person would I be if I couldn’t admit my mistakes. I should have never come off the air. At the time, doing both on air and promotions I was going 5 days at a time without seeing my kids, something had to give, and my decision was the air shift. I was told I would be the Promotions Director for the station, and once in the position I was just a secretary, and to anyone that knows me at all, knows that is not me. So nashradiosales, until you have walked in another persons shoes, maybe you shouldn’t assume you know exactly what happened. While you may not post on this board you are obviously still in the gossip game with everything you said. “Hello Pot? This is the kettle, you’re black!”.
