Karen Carson with Christine Nagy. Wow, two women. What a concept. Kudos to Karen.

Thanks to you this board beat the other board with the news! good job!

Great, now mornings on Lite will sounds more like The View!! Not the smartest move for Clear Channel who also owns female-targeted rhythmic AC, WKTU. Do they really want both Lite FM and KTU to compete with each other?

By becoming more "female friendly", they are isolating Lite's male audience. Do they think that males don't listen to Lite FM? I do, and I would listen a hell of a lot more if they'd quit spinning Donna Summer all day long and starting becoming more focused on their music. Furthermore, they are making it more difficult for Lite FM and KTU to differentiate themselves from one another. This differentiation, including music, personalities, and overall presentation is extremely important for success. You don't see Coca-Cola with one "soda" flavor that fits all appeals - they have Coke, Sprite, Barq's root beer, etc. - each differentiated and each serving a specific taste. Same concept applies to radio.

I know, I know, it's all about the ad dollar, but Lite FM is leaving themselves a bit vulnerable here. A poster in the previous post said it right, and I agree, that this move leaves them “in a much more vulnerable position than it would otherwise seem.” Maybe Clear Channel will wake up when 102.7 goes Soft AC, brings back Bill Buchner and JJ Kennedy, and makes a significant dent in Lite’s ratings.

Yes Sir! Clear Channel the Bold, Different Company. Two Women. What a concept.

I wonder how much money they saved?

You think that two women will turn off men?

Most men I know like it when two women are together. ;-)

That's because you're thinking with your SMALL head.

Hey, lighten up and don't take yourself so seriously.

You're not worth that much thought.

Still I question the wisdom of "experimenting in morning drive" on the #1 billing station in the nation. If they have research that backs up this move...fine. But it still is risky. With that said.....Lite is programmed to appeal to women. Like most A/C's...any male #s is just icing on the cake. And LTW does a ton of music research and wouldn't be spinning Donna Summer if it wasn't in the #s. And yes...in the case of Clear Channel...it's about looking profitable fir this possible sale that's going on. So, in spite of Mr Ryan's denying it in the press..it is ALL about saving money.
