At first, I was skeptical about Jodie Mac's show, but it turns out that I really like it. Although the whole WIP concept of 2 minute limits, no interviews, opening up topics beyond sports, etc., has some merit, I think that it gets very repetitious. I think the real advantage that Jodie Mac has over the other station is his ability and willingness to interview others, whether its an athlete, coach or another media member. The one downside is the fact that he's too nice and leaves some callers on too long. Too many of the same callers, also. This was the problem that WIP addressed when they implemented their limits years ago. Unfortunately, the other alternative (Eskin) is grating. I realize that he's very popular, but his act does wear thin.
As for the station, I think that it can be successful, but they do need to become more local, especially in morning drive-time. It'll take time, which they may not have.
