New WVIT building - now visible from the street

With the leaves off of the trees and the old building gone, you get an excellent view from I-84/US 6! Now if they can tell me how the still have a New Britain Avenue mailing address when the lot empties out onto Ridgewood Road and I-84/US 6 is in between the two?

Probably because of the property deed/title.

Two reasons. 1)the address technically hasn't changed. Think of all the stationary, buisness cards, etc., that has the old address on it, and the hassel around changing addresses. It is a smart decision to stay at that address for that very reason.

2) The address is most likely tied in with E-911. In order to facilitate a address change based on a slight variation (going from one street around the corner), requires a lot of red tape with both the Post Office and the Public Safety office.

Bottom line is, the address really hasn't changed, the building is on a different piece of the same plot of land.

Funny thing is that before they started working on the new building, that part of the land was actually still a parking lot, one that had been sectioned off and had much overgrowth of brush as the pavement deteriorated over time.

That's a really suburban look there. I wonder if they designed the building in a way that a furniture store or something could move right in should WVIT vacate.
