New WWBA promo takes aim at tape-delay FLA

D

Anyone heard it?

It plays a little of Hannity's ( aka Slanthead ) opening theme and says, "While the other guys play tape-delay programming, we give you the news," using quotes from national news and Savage about a breaking story.

Of course, WWBA is all syndicated as well, but it's good for someone to beat-up on the giant that owns the market's two most powerful signals.

It would be great if 1040 had a stronger signal to reach a wider range in the state.

I have enjoyed 1040 and their programming, before and after Hannity. Considering the signal strength and ratings do you think it is going to make a difference? Yes it makes the folks at 1040 feel better to take a shot at the mighty WFLA, but what's the point?

As far as Hannity goes - not sure I understand the slanthead reference - isn't he number 2 nationally to Rush when it comes to audience numbers? Tape delayed or not, he must be doing something right?

Err..their last local newscast is at 6..and AFAIK, it's recorded...
You'd think.."You're a great American" is timeless...as are the standard interviews with "Newt" "Mitt" and "Rudi"...Savage seems to feel everything points to the end of the world as we know it...How many times do we have to hear him rant about his desire to get out of the business...

Slanthead?
That's a deogatory reference to Hannity, due to his far-right, follow-the-Republican-talking points-at-any-turn modus operandi.

I think Ed Schultz may have coined the term.

It fits.

At least he's a conversationalist, ala the style of Larry King, but with obvous different political leanings.

Savage isn't also a follow-the-party or president at any cost man either.

Just listen as he goes after the Coward in Chief's "prosecution" of the war and jailing of its servicemen and border agents. Yup. Stop drug smugglers from coming across the border, then go to jail.

That kind of independence, I would think, would be good for rado that has relied too heavily on the Limbo-Hannity crutch.

Tape Delay? Hmmmmm Dennis Miller is tape delayed..... The redneck financial advisor, Dave Ramsey? Who knows when his show goes out. That show sounds like it belongs on a station like WTAN on saturday mornings as Pay for Play. Plus the audio quality of Ramseys show really sucks. Sounds like it's coming in via POTS telephone using a codec. WWBA needs to be careful not to call the kettle black.

I've never actually listened to Dave Ramsey, but all the old farts on the CB radio here just love him. ;D

I thought Slanthead was because Hannity always slants his head when he's talking on H&C on TV. Nevertheless, WWBA is going nowhere, even more so w/o Hannity, and should throw in the towel. I'm surprised Salem hasn't tried to scoop Savage away yet... they'd likely win.

I'm sure it' makes it so much nicer when media hog Crap Channel owns the two most powerful AM talk stations in the market, 970 & 620.

WWBA could do a promo using each persons name at CC and how awful they are and that everything on FLA sux, etc.

But if only 10 people hear it, who cares? They need to put their POSITIVE message on boards, print & TV. And yes, that costs money.
