New Year Predictions

Well, a new year is indeed upon us. I'm guessing not a lot of big things will not highlight 2015 but I'm sure we will see a few format tweaks here and there. My take is that Cumulus will be the corporate radio leader in changes. I don't see any probable changes within iHeartMedia/Radio and Cox. And with Entercom taking over Star 94 and ESPN 740, you have to wonder if Star will rise again to prominence.

Your thoughts?

You mean 790. I wish star would go a different route and basically go back to their heyday and play classic hits.

With Entercom at the wheel, I predict Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 will be back on Star 94 on the weekends. Is WFBC/Greenville our closest Entercom station?

I agree, Max. I've got some tapes from the early 90's and they were rocking. Remember Madison Chase?

Can we hope Cumulus gets smart and sends The Kimmer back to pasture in Florida?

BTW, was it just one day I listened or does he do it all the time -- repeat the "Newsmaker Lines" from the first hour in the last hour?

Despite all the cries for it, I predict no one will have the guts enough to roll out Oldies again.

ANY1067 will stagger along, with something replacing Kimmer and the evening talk will expand. It will by this time next year, be "All News in the Morning."

Rick Dees rewinds, and another Madison will not fix Star. If the new morning show rumor is true...first step in the right direction.

I would be willing to predict that the AM drive news block on 106.7 will disappear before the PM news block. They don't even have co-anchors in the morning most of the time.
