New York City Station Heard on 1320 AM

I was changing the stations on my HD Recepter radio when I noticed a strong signal on 1320 AM...after a few commercial I discovered it was WFAN 660 AM on 1320 AM. Has anyone else got them on 1320 AM ? I don't belive its being transmitted by someone cause most of the time this happens it for Satellite Radio. Could WFAN be testing a new off air frequency ?

hardly think so....there is an engineering term for that.. "harmonic" i believe...

I found out what occured while I tuned in 1320 the Fan....I use a Terk Loop AM Antenna for my HD radio, this in turn when fine tuned causing stations around the dial to appear elsewhere on the dial. Sorry for the mislead information.

This happens very close to a transmitter too. Note that 660 x 2 = 1320 1320 is The Fan's second harmonic.

Mixing product. 660+1050 = 1710

Yup, this was several years ago, probably when I was about 17 and knew next to nothing about radio.. so I found it kinda cool.
