NEW YORK: Party 87.7 to start Monday! (10-2)

The announcement has come down!

On Monday, November 2nd at 6AM, Party 105 (WPTY in Long Island), a rhythmic/dance station will be simulcasting their signal onto 87.7! New York will have a dance station again!

Now, I FULLY trust Vic Latino's judgment in terms of what he has to do with that station. People may complain about the sound being too "urban", to which when you think about it, the far out areas in Suffolk County (the Hamptons) cannot pull in New York stations Hot 97, Power 105.1 and 92.3 Now, all rhythmic in nature so for those communities, it fills a void. However I do feel that if Vic feels that he may have to "tweak" the format more danceable to get to the former Pulse 87 listeners, he'll do it! Vic is a BIG dance music person and has broken out MANY acts on Party 105 (some of which that NEVER got airplay on Pulse 87), so if there is ANY person out there that knows what has to be done....it is Vic Latino!

And to that, we must FULLY support him! :)

Yeah I trust ic full on.. some say he is not a nice person, but he has always been cool with me and listens to you if you respectfully listen to him........... He was at KTU, hopefully Party moves their studio to nyc and gets more adverts.

Do the DJs have to take that long of a commute? ??? I can't imagine supposedly hip, urban types having to schlep all the way there to DJ. ;)

In any case, I would dare Party to play this record:

Ian Carey - Redlight (Original Mix)

I doubt they would. ;)

Andre used to commute from the Bronx all the way to Ronkonkoma to program Party 105. I think that's where he got his nickname "Andre the DRE Dog", WDRE used to be Party 105's call letters, and it used to be "the station that DARES to DANCE".
