New York, Philly, and LA have a new format. It would work here too.

I am noticing elsewhere a format that looks to be a Jammin Oldies format with an extreme makeover. They are calling Rhythmic AC and it targets a big demo. It would work here in Houston and would impact several stations (KRBE and Mix for hits that haven't been on in awhile, The Box for R&b and classic hip-hop, Party for current hip-hop, Mega for dance and K-hits and Majic (for classic dance/disco). I would like to see it on 97.5 (worse case scenario), 106.9, or 93.7 (would be a big stick and would bring some of the music that made Disco 94 made king here for a short time. K-hits is starting to lean classic rock anyway and the lowly KIOL can fulfill the classic rock void.

I take it you are referring to the Rhythmic AC formats?
Clear Channel has had KTU in New York for about ten years.
The one in Philly is on Clear Channel's 106.1
In L.A. Emmis just launched the Movin' format, a creation of Alan Burns & Associates.
Sandusky Radio had one in Seattle as well.
Citadel has two similarly formatted stations going by the name of Diva in New Orleans and Baton Rouge.
I've sampled them, and I think I like the Movin' stations best.
That may be the closest thing we get to dance music in Houston.
I wouldn't mind seeing this format on 106.9
My preference would be light on the 80's and focus evenly on the 90's and today.
Maybe have some disco flashbacks thrown in every now and then.
