I was stripping copper today for three hours with CBS FM on, and even I wished they'd go all christmas for this last week..

923 is doing too well to flip it to classic hip hop which nyc needs. The format is doing well everywhere, but the birthplace of the music doesn't have it in the market.

We know Cumulus will not flip 955 to it, not their big signal in the big city. Hot and Power don't want to give the hip hop format exclusively to the other, 1051 would never do it as they flank 97 for lite to be at the top and it is the home base for their syndicated urban morning show

93.1 is the prime place for the classic hip hop format. However the owner will not do a format on that signal that is not Spanish language. So we have no place for this much needed format which would do better than a few stations are doing right now playing music that you can find on a number of different frequencies. On 1039 it would be a joke, as their doesn't seem to be any location in the market where this signal can be heard clearly.

I've been advocating for classic hip, hop in NYC for years, after all hip, hop was born here. Since the format is new and we don't really know how it will perform it would make sense however to test it in smaller markets before blowing up one of the lesser performing NYC fms and losing the current revenue with a more risky format.
That said, to me, KTU would be the best positioned to add some classic hip, hop and morph into the format slowly but KTU performs way too well to do that.

I live in Essex County, NJ and I have no trouble with the 103.9 signal. It comes in fine in my house and when I'm driving around. With that said, WNBM sounds great as an R&B station (much better than BLS in my opinion), so I would not want them switching formats anyway.

DOA: Do you live in New York? Have you ever lived in New York? Who are you to say New York NEEDS a station playing "hip-hop," racist, vulgar, offensive, terroristic trash music. Why are you trolling multiple markets on this board pushing this vile, psychotic noise? You need professional help.
