New York Ratings May 2026

94.7 The Block is languishing in the 2's or lower. Would Audacy opt for something better because it's clearly not working. It's the lowest commercial English FM station in the market.

Meanwhile, Z-100 and CBS-FM are up slightly - then again, so are K-LOVE and WQXR.

WHSQ still too small for a showing in the ratings as ever. For the second month in a row, it even lost to the national ESPN feed on WEPN.

The Knicks couldn't provide any semblance of a boost.

iHeart doing well with Z100 and Lite. WNEW continues to impress with solid performance.
Not much to say about the beauty numbers. Pretty much everything continues to move within normal ranges.

Could The Block be used as a "tax writeoff"??? HMMMM

I used to ask myself that question about WNEW during its Hot Talk and Blink-FM formats. I doubt any commercial station is being used as a tax writeoff, though. The purpose is to make money. Look where WNEW is today. They eventually found the right format for them. 94.7 could find the right format someday, even if it takes years to find it.

Bingo. Even if it making a zip-lock bag of money, they’re gonna keep it going.

If they had something that they could do better with, don’t you think they would’ve done that by now?

I agree. They're not programming it for the 6+ ratings. They're programming it to fit with the sales demos they want.

They could great 6+ numbers with 50s oldies. But they already have that audience with WINS.
