New York Ratings May 2026

Could The Block be used as a "tax writeoff"??? HMMMM
No broadcaster today needs a (misnamed) "tax writeoff" as the industry is so troubled today that an intentional loss is not needed.

Aside from that, every business expense is "deductable". Businesses pay tax on what is left over after all expenses, not on "everything" like personal income tax seems to be.

KTWV doesn't really target blacks or latinos.
Huh? They primarily target Hispanics and Blacks, meaning about 60% of the 25-64 population of LA. But, from what I know of the research they did some years ago, they look for a market cross section and commonality of appeal to all groups. It is true consensus format.

The KTWV format also has great appeal among a number of the Euro-Asian groups, such as Armenians, Persians, Ukrainians, etc.

Credit to The Wave for adjusting and surviving for so many years. They’ve come a long way from the Dave Koz/smooth jazz style of The Wave.

no radio in NY that plays the 2 top hits of 2026
And that is likely because those two songs, whatever they are, do not, today, test positively with the audience of eany station. Remember, one thing most good programmers include in their "rule book" is that any song that you do not play can not hurt you.

Isn’t it amazing how some people complain about National formats and then when station offerings in a market reflect how different NYC is from the rest of the country, they still complain about that instead?
