After reading Mega Media's latest press release about how thier New York audience is growing, I went to Radio and Records to look up the ratings and Pulse 87.7 doesn't even show up which means they don't even have a .1 share.
“Pulse 87” registered in the monthly ratings for the first time, earning a 0.6 share, age 6-plus, with a cume of nearly 700,000 – 696,400. This is the first time that a low power television channel 6, which broadcasts its audio on the FM dial at 87.7, has “made the book” for New York since Arbitron changed its policy. Owned by Mega Media Group, dance-formatted “Pulse 87” has been getting custom ratings reports from Arbitron. Then in March, Arbitron announced it would start to include the Channel 6 TV broadcasts on the FM dial in future PPM reports, as long as they met minimum reporting standards and provided they have these characteristics: “The programming is transmitted under the lawful authority of the FCC. The programming is marketed exclusively to radio listeners. And that it be audio-only programming or otherwise unaccompanied by visual advertising content.” Mega Media is currently working on creating other “87 FM” stations in major markets.
(Hopefully I'm not violating a TOS by fully quoting this website's news?)
If Pulse 87 had a full market signal, its ratings would extrapolate to over a 3.0 share.
Can't wait for the share price of MMDA to go up According to its statements, their revenue is increasing. With the favorable ratings and the Pulse of DC, they might turn a profit.
Someone on the New York board said they had a .6 share, so I went back to Radio and Records and it's there but it is listed as XXYZ, which is why I missed it before.
