New York's 710 WOR Expands "The Buck Sexton Show"

https://news.****************/articles/n39343/New-Yorks-710-WOR-Expands-The-Buck-Sexton-Show

Show starts on August 31st.

iHeartMedia's 710 WOR, The Voice of New York, announced today that weekday personality Buck Sexton will expand his live and local show from two to three hours. Effective Monday, August 31, "The Buck Sexton Show" will be heard weeknights from 6 - 9 p.m. ET

"I'm thrilled to be extending my presence on the far-reaching airwaves of WOR," said Sexton. "I look forward to expanding my nightly conversation with fellow New Yorkers and tri-staters about the issues that matter most to us."

The funny thing is, most iHeart talk stations DO NOT run Buck Sexton. Yes, they almost all carry Rush, Hannity and Coast to Coast AM from co-owned Premiere Networks. Most outside the western time zones also carry Glenn Beck. (Beck's 9am start time in the East puts him in morning drive in the Pacific Time Zone. Nearly all iHeart stations, except in the very smallest markets, have a local morning show running at that time.)

In fact, a number of iHeart talk stations run a non-Premiere show in the evening, rather than carry Sexton. Some go with Marc Levin from Westwood One, some with Dave Ramsey, a few with Joe Pags (who works at iHeart's WOAI San Antonio but is not syndicated by Premiere) and a few with Todd Schnitt (who works at iHeart's WFLA Tampa, but is also not with Premiere).

I'm not sure why WOR is carrying Sexton, other than it needs something for the 6 to 9pm slot. Levin is on rival 770 WABC, Ramsey is carried at 9pm, which means WOR doesn't carry another Premiere host, Clyde Lewis. For a short time, WOR had a local 6 to 9pm show but dropped it as an economy move.
